Skye House

Concept proposals for a new home to be used as a holiday let, replacing an existing derelict de-crofted building near the Isle of Skye. Following a conversion project of another de-crofted house nearby, this concept study explored form, scale and material use in relation to the existing structure.

With a huge number of derelict buildings scattered across this area, this is certainly an emerging opportunity to bring life back to these places. This concept was to explore a light-touch, sustainable, modern reinterpretation of the croft-house typology, making the most of the panoramic mountain views and larch forests surrounding the site.
